Creative Writing Workshop with Atuki Turner and Doreen Baingana as Guest Speaker

Do you have a passion for writing?

The great American writer Maya Angelou once said, ‘There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.’ Is there a story you are dying to tell? Would you like to learn the art and craft of storytelling? Would you like to share the writing experience with other aspiring writers?

Dr Atuki Turner, in collaboration with the University of East Anglia’s creative writing programme in Norfolk, UK, will lead a residential writing workshop in Kampala from Monday 2nd to Thursday 4th May 2022. The workshop will teach creative writing techniques, concentrating on the short story.

If you would like to be considered for a place on the workshop, please fill out this form below or send a message of motivation by email to workshopcw22@gmail.com explaining why you would be the perfect person to attend.

Your message can be in the form of a letter or email no more than A4 one-side or 450 words) and should include your name and address and a brief statement of why we should choose you, to be received no later than midnight local time on 15th April 2022. If you have a brief sample of your writing or something you have published before you may attach it.

There are no fees for this workshop. Please note that accommodation for a few up-country participants and a modest transport refund will be provided.

This workshop is supported by the University of East Anglia (UEA) International Writing Programme (Chair: Tsitsi Dangarembga) in collaboration with atukiturner.com and with Doreen Baingana as guest speaker. For more information about the programme see: https://www.uea.ac.uk/creative/africa-events.
